AARON HOTCHNER
Backstory
Aaron Hotchner is the Supervisory Special Agent,or SSA, for the BAU team. He is commonly referred to as "Hotch" by his friends and co-workers. Agent Hotchner was a prosecuter in his days before joining the BAU. Aaron was married to his high-school sweetheart, but they seperated due to Hotch being away from home too often. Hotch had one son with Haley named Jack. After their divorce, Haley was murdered by Foyet, a killer Hotch had been pursuing.

Agent Hotch is a stern, hard-working man who does not tend to smile. He does not like to antagonize family members of the victim, local authorites or witnesses unless he believes that it will reveal information that could be beneficial to the case. Hotch is the leader of the team and is greatly admired and respected by his team despite his no-nonsense attitude.

SSA Aaron Hotchner is played by Thomas Gibson. Thomas Gibson was born on July, 3rd 1962 in Charleston, South Carolina. He began his acting career at the young age of 10 when he took part in the children's theater. He starred in his first play in 1973. In 1979, Gibson attended the College of Charleston. After an intership at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, he was persuaded to apply to Julliard. Gibson ended up receiving a scholarship to the renowned school. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Gibson's professional debut was in A Map of The World in 1985. He was asked to star in Far and Away in 1992. Gibson played in television shows for PBS and NBC before being casted for the famous Aaron Hotchner in 2005. Gibson is currently married to Christine Gibson and has three children.
